How long does it take to change motorcycle oil?

Motorcycle oil change time depends on the number of kilometers, weather conditions, environment, usage level and quality of engine oil.

Motorcycle oil experts advise that after the first 1,000 km, the oil must be changed.

After that, the reasonable time to change the motorcycle oil is after the vehicle has run 2,000 km for new motorcycles and from 1,000 km to 1,500 km for old motorcycles.

Specially, scooters have two types of oil, engine oil and differential oil (gearbox oil). According to experience, for every 3 engine oil changes, there is one differential oil change.

If the dipstick is not wet, it is below the level marked with an X, which means the oil is out.

If the oil is still light yellow and gradually thins out, it is still usable.

If the oil is dark gray and thins out quickly, it must be changed immediately.

Old oil contains many impurities and metal shavings that will damage the engine, so it needs to be completely drained.

Tilt the vehicle so that the remaining oil in the engine parts can flow out completely, then use a hose to spray the engine block to clean the oil.

Choose the right oil for the vehicle’s capacity

Motorcycle oil is produced in cans of 0.7 liters, 0.8 liters and 1 liter to suit the capacity requirements of many different types of engines.

Therefore, experts advise that when changing oil, users should choose the appropriate type to avoid excess or lack of oil. Because a vehicle with excess oil will be heavy, causing the engine to heat up, while a vehicle with insufficient oil will lack lubrication, the oil will foam, heat up the engine, and cause a lot of wear. At the same time, check the label and seal of the oil

The new oil can must be sealed with two layers: a plastic cap and a seal covering the mouth of the bottle. Users need to pay attention to this issue and check the seal carefully before asking the staff to pour oil into the vehicle.
